Full House at Knowledge Transfer Session in Houston

March 20, 2007

2007 KT SessionSome 60 people attended a knowledge transfer session held at the Houston Senior’s Centre on March 2, 2007 . The session – the fourth such event held since 2001 - focussed on M&L IFPA project work that was completed by consultants and partners in the 2005/2006 fiscal year. The purpose of KT sessions is to share new knowledge on IFPA-funded innovative forest management projects to the natural resource management community in the region.

Those in attendance included representatives from the consulting community, First Nations, licensees, provincial government ministries, and IFPA public advisory groups. Participants enjoyed presentations in the subject areas of planning, collaboration, silviculture and wildlife management.

“It was a full room,” said M&L IFPA communications coordinator Ritchie Morrison. “Based on audience interaction with the presenters, and on the number of printed technical summaries taken home by participants, there was a lot of interest in this work.”
