Morice TSA Open House Held in Houston

An Open House for the Morice SFM Plan was held at the Houston Mall on Friday, November 4th, 2005. According to IFPA communications coordinator Ritchie Morrison, some 50 local residents stopped by the mall location to make enquiries or pick up information pamphlets.

“Several people stopped to ask general questions about the IFPA, and others had very specific concerns about forest management, particularly concerning timber supply and the mountain pine beetle,” said Morrison.

A draft version of the most recent Morice Sustainable Forest Management Plan was available at the event for viewing by local residents. The final version of the plan will be posted to the M&L IFPA website shortly.

A similar open house is scheduled to be held in Burns Lake in early 2006.
