Open House Held in Burns Lake

An Open House for the Lakes SFM Plan was held at the Lakeview Mall in Burns Lake on March 30th and 31st , 2006. According to IFPA communications coordinator Ritchie Morrison, some 55 local residents stopped by the mall location to make enquiries or pick up information on the IFPA and recent planning information.

“There was strong interest by the public,” said Morrison. “Several people stopped by to discuss particular issues, such as beetle impacts and timber supply.” He added that some 80 publications, including newsletters and project summaries, were picked up by interested members of the public.

Version 3 of the Lakes SFM plan is now posted to the Morice and Lakes IFPA website.
