M&L IFPA Forestry Plan Completed

October 4, 2006

A Forestry Plan has been completed by the Morice & Lakes Innovative Forest Practices Agreement for the Morice Timber Supply Area (TSA). The purpose of this plan is to provide the basis for a request for an Allowable Annual Cut (AAC) increase in the Morice TSA under Section 59.1 of the Forest Act. The Forestry Plan provides a detailed description of the innovative practices and activities that the ML-IFPA partners have committed to within the TSA. It also provides a strategy to mitigate the loss of timber values in the TSA due to the mountain pine beetle epidemic.

The M&L IFPA has committed to a 60-day public review period so that members of the public can examine and provide feedback on this plan. This feedback will be considered for incorporation into the final version of the plan. The review period is from October 4, 2006 to December 2, 2006 .
